Locus (working title)
An art exchange between Rio de Janeiro, Santiago and Toronto.

Subject: experiments with technology including body related performative works. The projected theme of performances is related to experiments with technology. This topic is of mutual interest to the participating artists in each city. How does the "body" relate to technological devices including everyday appliances such as mobiles or computer mediated technologies? It is also important to use this occasion and the exchange to open a discourse on the significance of the convergence of arts, science and technology as expressed through video, media art and internet works. A public forum possibility connected to the event in each city - a very important consideration for yhe Rio participants- has been discussed.
The exchange will inevitable bring out the contrasts, mythologies and possible misconceptions about these cities as expressed by the artists. Furthermore it will be of interest to observe how the local conditions such as technical access, information network possibilities will be reflected by the artists in each locale.
